I held her hand as we continued to follow the trail. Red Butterfly and I were singing our favorite song “I Will Take You There” by the Plain White T’s, when she suddenly took a halt and gripped my hand. Her hand felt cold and I could see it in her eyes that she’s really scared. Her lips even turned a bit pale, and I asked her why. She said something huge was moving just a few feet away from where we were standing at. I know what she was thinking, “SNAKE“, a huge one. Red Butterfly has a great fear of all kinds of snakes. And this one was crawling so close along the trail…
Lost in The Middle of the Mystical Forest
In a silent voice I told her to come closer… She leaped into my arms and I carried her while she held on tight. I moved towards the opposite direction slowly, afraid that if I moved quick, the creature might panic and might attack us or something. So I moved slowly at first towards the brighter path where the rays of the sun was piercing through the not so huge trees. As we came to the much safer place I ran as fast as I could with Red Butterfly in my arms, to get both of us away from the possible danger. I was almost out of breath but I did not stop. All that I had in mind was the thought of keeping the woman I love away from all harms, and to make her feel safe again.
When we came to what I considered at safe spot, we rested and breathed sighs of relief — but not for long. We realized that we are in a completely different path and surroundings. The trail was nowhere in sight….
We’re lost.
Red Butterfly started crying while saying we should have just gone back to the happy mountain home when we had the chance to. Now, we’re lost in the midst of the mystical forest.
I said sorry but it was too late. I know… It’s my fault why we’ve gotten ourselves in trouble. We should have stayed and relaxed at the Happy Mountain Home where we originally planned to spend our honeymoon at.
