The Hunters Trail

Due to the seemingly unclimbable huge rock formations that blocked our way, I have to decided to take a detour. At first Red Butterfly was saying we should just go back to the Happy Mountain Home, but I insisted that we pursue what we’ve already started. I mean, it’s not just for adventure’s sake but I just didn’t want to waste our efforts. We’ve already gone too far just to give up now.

While checking out the surroundings for tracks, I found a trail going towards the direction of the huge trees not far from where Red Butterfly and I were resting. The trail must be what they call as The Hunters’ Trail. I also found residues of burnt woods, meaning there must been people who came here in the past.

My hopes of seeing the waterfalls and the source of the water at the stream rekindled. I went back towards Red Butterfly to tell her of what I found. She was a little happy but more of hesitant not to go any further and just go back to what she called as the safer grounds. I had to use all my convincing power for her to say yes, it took even more convincing than how much it took when I was still pursuing her to be my girlfriend and to marry me.

I told her that I’ll give her some time to think. And so we rested first and then we ate some of the food that we brought with us. I didn’t say anything anymore, I was afraid she might get upset. I just hugged her from behind as we watched the water flowing from the rocks down to the stream.

Her faced glowed with the smile and her eyes were twinkling, and she said, “alright, we’re going in!” I nearly jumped for joy and hugged her. We then prepared our things and went to follow the hunter’s trail. The sounds of the birds and insects that we’ve never heard in our entire lives were new to us. The green cool ambiance of the forest was such a beauty. Although as we followed the trail, it brought us deeper into the abyss of huge trees.  The air felt a little colder than earlier and we could no longer hear the gushing sound of the flowing water. Red Butterfly said, I think we might have taken the wrong trail…
